Vintage-themed event helps fight women's heart disease.

An early fall evening devoted to looking back in time will help modern
women tackle one of the biggest health problems of our day. About 400
people enjoyed musical ensembles, vintage period displays, dinner and
dancing at Franklin Hills Country Club in Farmington Hills on Sept.
26 during Heart to Heart du Vintage, a benefit to help uninsured and
underinsured women receive treatment at the Ministrelli Women's Heart
Center at Beaumont Hospital in Royal Oak. Chefs re-created recipes
from some of Detroit's iconic restaurants for the event; guests could view
several limited-edition classic 1939 cars from J. Peter Ministrelli's private
collection.
"Despite recent advances, heart disease remains the leading cause of
death in women," said Dr. Pamela Marcovitz of Ann Arbor, the heart
center's medical director. "Earlier identification of disease, more aggres-

sive treatment and prevention are the keys to lowering a woman's risk.
The Ministrelli Women's Heart Center provides this."
