BY ROBIN SCHWARTZ I PHOTOGRAPHY BY ANGIE BAAN A room decorated in bright, bold colors served as a backdrop for a parade of fashions from casual to sophisticated to cutting edge during "Style through the Pages," Temple Israel's annual sisterhood donor luncheon, boutiques and fashion show. Models showed off the latest looks from Lucy, Roots, Eileen Fisher and other designers and also wore furs from Ceresnie & Offen at the Oct. 29 event at the West Bloomfield synagogue. About 250 people also enjoyed a luncheon and shopping; 39 vendors sold clothing, jewelry, accessories and other items. "Each portion of the fashion show was given the name of a magazine, and the fashions were related to that theme," explained Karen Gilbert of West Bloomfield. She co-chaired the event with Susan Kaplan of Farmington Hills. "It was a great way to spend an afternoon," Gilbert said.
