Lone Pine (17 mile)
All My Sons
Set in the aftermath of World War II,
this powerful revival by renowned
playwright and University of Michigan
alumnus Arthur Miller is about an
industrialist who sold defective weap-
ons parts to the Army during World
War II but whose partner pays for the
crime in jail. The all-star cast includes
John Lithgow, Dianne Wiest and Katie
Holmes. Through Jan. 11.
At the Gerald Schoenfeld Theatre,
236 West 45th St. (212) 239-6200.
American Buffalo
Chicago-born playwright David
Mamet wrote this dark comedy about
an antiques store owner who, after
selling a buffalo-head nickel, discov-
ers it's much more valuable then he
thought. Starring John Leguizamo,
Haley Joel Osment (The Sixth Sense)
and comedian Cedric the Entertainer.
At the Belasco Theater, 111 West 44th
St. (212) 239-6200.
A Tale Of Two Cities
Based on Charles Dickens' 1859
epic novel set during the French
Revolution, this soaring musical about
injustice, revenge and the power of
love includes actors Gregg Edelman
(Little Children, Spiderman 2) and
Aaron Lazar (Les Miserables on
Broadway).
At the Al Hirschfeld Theater, 302
West 45th St. (212) 239-6200.
Billy Elliot
With music by Sir Elton John, this
smash hit from London, based on the
film about a working-class boy who
dreams of becoming a ballet dancer
much to the dismay of his macho coal
miner father, features three young
actors rotating in the challenging lead
role. One of them, San Diego's Kiril
Kulish, an accomplished performer in
ballet, ballroom dancing and piano, is
the son of immigrants from the for-
mer Soviet Union who immigrated to
the U.S. in 1989, five years before Kiril
was born.
At the Imperial Theater, 249 West
45th St. (212) 239-6200.
Equus
Playwright Peter Shaffer's Tony
Award-winning revival is about a
17-year-old stable boy who savagely
blinds six horses while his psychia-
trist, facing his own inadequacies, tries
to learn why. Playing the troubled teen
is British actor Daniel Radcliffe, who
starred in the title role in all five Harry
Potter films. Through Feb. 4.
At the Broadhurst Theatre, 235 West
44th St. (212) 239-6200.
