Ask the

Temple Beth El

Expert

Question: If someone
calls and asks me to dial
90#, should I hang up im-
mediately?
Answer: This is an old
internet hoax. There was
one switchboard in the
USA that would allow an
incoming call to be con-
nected to an outgoing dial
tone through 90#, but that
loophole was specific to
one system and was fixed
decades ago. It could not
work on any mobile phone,
anywhere in the world. Try
it for yourself by ringing
your own mobile. It does
nothing at all! There are
several internet sites where
you can check the valid-
ity of this myth and others.
Stop in at one of our 40
Metro Detroit locations and
our expertz will show you
the latest and greatest in
handsets and accessories.
