She was born in Detroit, the young- est of six children of Abram and Sophie Stoller. She lived in Detroit and Southfield until 1996, when she moved to Oregon City with her husband, Robert Ostrow, who preceded her in death in 1997. Mrs. Ostrow is survived by her son Dr. Fred, (Kathleen) Ostrow of Estacada, Ore.; daughters, Judy (Edward) Schutzman of San Carlos, Calif., and Margaret Marx of Concord, Calif.; nine grandchildren; three great- grandchildren. A graveside funeral service was held at Redland Pioneer Cemetery, with arrangements by Holman's Funeral Service of Portland, Ore. Born in 1914 in Baghdad, Iraq, Dr. Raby overcame the substantial obstacles facing Iraqi Jews of the time to enroll in the Royal College of Medicine. He graduated at the top of his class, receiving valedictory medals from King Faisal. Following his graduation, Dr. Raby served as personal physician to the prime minister and prominent govern- ment officials. He came to the United States in 1952 as a visiting Fulbright scholar in microbiology at the Guthrie Clinic in Sayre, Pa. Drawn to pediatrics because of his love of children, Dr. Raby moved to Michigan to join the staff of C.S. Mott Children's Hospital at the University of Michigan, where he was in charge of the newborn nursery. He later became director of Outpatient Services at Children's Hospital of Michigan and relocated to the Detroit area. In 1956, he established a successful private pediatric practice in Trenton and Southgate, providing care to thousands of families, before retiring at the age 74. Dr. Raby also held various direc- tor and staff positions at Wyandotte General, Seaway, Outer Drive and Oakwood hospitals. In retirement, he moved to Okemos, where he delighted in the company of his grandchildren. Dr. Raby is survived by sons and daughter-in-law, Glen and Gail Raby, Mark Raby; daughters and sons-in-law, Lynne and Ken Page, Anita and Mark Fox; grandchildren, Shannon Raby, Kyle and Dana Page, Tyler, Meredith and Gregory Fox; former wife, Barbara Raby; brothers and sisters-in-law, Albert and Suad Raby and Tawfik Raby. He was a videogra- pher and worked for Channel 2 News for 27 years. He bought his first camera with Siegel money from his bar mitzvah. In 1943, he volunteered and was called to active duty with the 103rd Infantry Division. When he returned from the Army, he began experimenting with 16mm rever- sal film processing. In 1951, Mr. Siegel built an open reel-processing drum of wire and rods, similar to a paddle wheel on the rear of a steamboat. It was driven
