A loose band or bracket will usually still be attached to the wire. You should leave it

In place, however If it Is uncomfortable, place wax on tt. The bracket no longer being
attached to the tooth does mean that no controlled force is being applied to the tooth
so you should call the office to arrange for it to be re-applied at your next appointment
or sooner if desired.

tooth to which it is securely fastened. Once again if there is any discomfort you may
place wax on it until your next opportunity to go to the orthodontist.

Dr. Nelson Hersh
and
Dr. Marsha Beattie.

If an elastic tie (which helps to hold the wire into the bracket) is lost this is not an
emergency and just notify the orthodontist at the next visit.

Tylenol, ibuprofen or whatever you may use fora mild headache. For more pronounced
discomfort, you should contact the orthodontist office.
