Michigan Radio has appointed Tamar
Charney of Ann Arbor to the position
of program director. Charney joined
Michigan Radio in 1997 and has
served as Michigan Radio's interim
program director since March 2007.
Her other roles at the station have
included senior producer, on-air
host, managing editor and produc-
tion director. She helped produce the
station's 2007 documentary Ashes to
Hope: Overcoming the Detroit Riots,
which won a 2007 national Edward R.
Murrow award as well as recognition
from the Public Radio News Directors
Incorporated, and several local and
regional awards.
The State Bar of Michigan elected
Jules B. Olsman of Huntington Woods
as chair of the Negligence Law Section
Council. He is the president of Olsman
Mueller P.C. in Berkley. Olsman has
served, most recently, as the vice
chairperson and as the treasurer of the
Negligence Law Section Council. He
also served as a past president of the
Michigan Association for Justice. He
has 29 years of experience in personal
injury litigation including medical
malpractice, nursing home liability,
police misconduct, product liability,
workplace injury and automobile acci-
