we have a proud tradition of promoting medical research that can bring the end of suffering
to millions of people. We believe no special interest group has the right to deprive patients of the best
possible medical care. That is why we heartily endorse Proposal 2 and Embryonic Stem Cell Research.
Here are reasons*you should too:
■ Embryonic stem cell research has the power to provide cures and treatments for the most devastating
diseases - cancer, heart disease, diabetes, stroke, Alzheimer's. ALS, Parkinson's disease, to name a few.
M No doctor or researcher should face prison for trying to discover life-saving treatments and cures,
using tools that are allowed in 45 other states.
• The research will be fully regulated with many safeguards. Researchers can only use leftover
embryos from fertility clinics and with the full consent of donors.
▪ These frozen embryos would otherwise be thrown out as medical waste.
