haron Ceresnie and Daniel Sorkin
will be married at the Atheneum
Hotel in Detroit in August 2009.
Sharon is the daughter of Dr. Steven and
Patty Ceresnie of West Bloomfield. She grad-
uated Indiana University in Bloomington
and University of Michigan Law School and
is an associate at Loeb & Loeb LLP, special-
izing in trademarks and entertainment.
Daniel is the son of Dr. Richard and
Myrna Sorkin of Northbrook, Ill. He gradu-
ated the University of Wisconsin in Madison
and the Chicago School of Professional
Psychology, where he received his doctorate
in psychology. He is a post-doctorate fellow at Jewish Child & Family Services in
Chicago, providing therapy for children and adolescents.

Bloomfield will celebrate their 50th
wedding anniversary on Oct. 26. A
family celebration was held in August with
their sons and daughters-in-law, Michael
and Stacy, Allan and Shelly, and grandchil-
dren, Isabelle, Elijah, Goldie, Gabriel and
Simon. The couple will be honored with an
aliyah at Shabbat services at Adat Shalom
Synagogue in Farmington Hills on Oct. 25;
they will co-sponsor the Kiddush following.

essie and Solly Abels of Southfield will
celebrate their 75th wedding anniver-
sary this month. They were married
on Oct. 23, 1933. Good wishes come from
their children, Michael and Dennie Abels,
Sid and Bobbi Abels; grandchildren, Mark
and Karen Abels, Tony and Marianna Abels,
Steve and Heather Abels, Marni Millard, Jodi
