Detroit's "Tikun Olam — Making a
Difference Initiative '09," a free, three-
part program for Jewish young adults,
ages 18-26. Ten learning sessions will
be offered in preparation for volun-
teering in New Orleans, March 15-22.

service with participation by the congregation's sixth-grade religious
school students will be followed by a pasta and pizza dinner in the

• Congregation Beth Ahm, 5075 W. Maple in West Bloomfield: A casual
pizza/salad supper will be followed by a festive service for Simchat
Torah 6 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 21. A coffee bar and dessert buffet afterward
is part of the hakafot (group dancing and singing with the Torah scrolls).
