Conservation Tips
Fall Tree Planting
• Plant a tree. A single tree
will absorb one ton of carbon
dioxide over its lifetime.
• Plant deciduous (leafy)
trees at the south side of
your home or building. In the
summer they block the sun,
provide shade and cool your
home. In the winter they lose
their leaves and allow the
sun to heat your home.
• Plant evergreen shrubs and
trees on the north side of the
building to block cold winds.
• Plant trees to absorb CO2
and to provide shade.
• Plant fruit trees and organ-
ic gardens.
• Dig up unneeded concrete
and plant there.
