Temple Beth El is the oldest continuously operating syna- gogue in Michigan, founded in 1885. The only traditional synagogue within a 60-mile radius it has a mem- bership of 50 families and a rabbi who comes one weekend a month. This year, an anonymous donor from Yonkers, N.Y., by way of Bay City, will supplement the congregation's eighth annual fundraiser raffle.
