An orthodontist by training, but a volun- teer by choice for 30 years, Marx served as chair of the former Dental and Professional Service Division of the Susie Pappas Campaign and on the Jewish Federation Board of Governors. He has served as a volunteer and solicitor for many community agencies, including JARC,Yad Ezra and Jewish Family Service, for which he served as president for five years. Pappas has been the consummate volunteer and mentor, serving as a United Jewish Foundation board member and an officer of Federation. She has served on every committee of the Jewish Federation Women's Department, culminating as presi- dent from 2007-2008.
