Sawyer Edward Bryce Altman (Baruch) of Birmingham will be called to the Torah as a bar mitzvah Saturday, Sept. 27, at Congregation Shaarey Zedek Southfield. Jacob Diem Behrmann will be called to read from the Torah at Congregation Shir Tilcvah in Troy on Friday evening, Sept. 26. He is the son of Sara and Steven Behrmann, broth- er of Sydney, grandchild Behrmann of Bunny and Mickey Behrmann of Huntington Woods and of the late Rose and the late Sidney Diem. Jacob is a student at Norup International School in Oak Park. For his mitzvah project, he volunteered twice monthly for 10 months, mentoring and befriending an autistic child in the neigh- borhood. Benjamin Isaac Beltser will lead the congrega- tion at Temple Israel in West Bloomfield Saturday, Sept, 27, as he celebrates his bar mitzvah. He is the son of Yuliya and Ilya Beltser Beltser and the brother of Lev. He helped sort vegetables and plants with Earth Works Urban Farming and felt this was a very meaningful mitzvah project.
