FLORENCE SHAPIRO, 98, of
Bloomfield Hills, died Sept. 4, 2008.
She was the owner of Towne and
Country Shoppe, a women's clothing
store in Cassopolis, Mich.
Mrs. Shapiro is survived by her
daughter, Harriet Israel of Bloomfield
Hills; grandchildren, Marc and Mary
Jo Israel, Daniel and Cyndi Israel,
Bruce Israel and Lisa Pernick; great-
grandchildren, Jaclyn, Eric, Adam, Ben,
Leah, Jack, Blake and Evan Israel.
She was the beloved wife of the late
Benjamin Shapiro; loving mother-in-
law of the late Sidney Israel.
Interment at Temple Beth El
Cemetery in Benton Harbor.

IDA SNIDER, 94, of Southfield, died
Aug. 28, 2008.
She was an elementary school
teacher for Detroit Public Schools.
Mrs. Snider is survived by her
son and daughter-in-law, Larry and
Maxine Snider of Illinois; daughter
and son-in-law, Judy and David Leash
of California; grandchildren, Stephanie
Snider, Suzanne Snider, Elana and
Frank Aoyama; granddaughter, Rayna
Aoyama; sisters-in-law, Beatty Hertz
and Ida Robbins.
She was the beloved wife of the late
Ben Snider; loving sister of the late
Lillian Jaffe Oaks and the late Oscar
Hertz.
Interment at Beth El Memorial Park.

JEROME SPERO, 83, of Islamorada, Fla.,
died Sept. 2,2008. He was the founder
and owner of Baldwin Steel in Solon,
Ohio, and Ecorse. He was a board mem-
ber of Franklin Hills Country Club, Sinai
Hospital Board, a founder of Mariners
Hospital in Islamorada, Fla., and a
founder and board member of Cleveland
Clinic.
Mr. Spero is survived by his wife of 43
years, Arlene Spero; sons and daughters-
in-law, Bruce and Kelly Sucher of West
Bloomfield, Jeffrey and Karen Sucher
of Bloomfield Hills, Stephen and Marcy
Sucher of Bloomfield Hills; daughter,
Robin Spero of California; grandchil-
dren, Bryce, Scott, Jennifer, Alanna, Jason
and Jordan Sucher; brother and sister-
in-law, Donald and Patricia Spero.
He was the dear brother of the late
Jane Green.
Interment at Clover Hill Park
