and great-grandmother Millie Shapiro
of Chicago. Lila is named in loving
memory of paternal great-aunt Judy
Cohen and maternal great-grand-

named in loving memory of paternal
great-grandfather Morrie Shapiro and
maternal great-aunt Sorel.

School in West Bloomfield. His most
meaningful mitzvah project was a bicy-
cle ride to raise funds for the American
Diabetes Association.

Mara Elyse Cranis
(Mara Aliza) will be
called to the Torah
as a bat mitzvah on
Saturday, Sept. 13,
at Congregation
Beth Alun in West
Bloomfield. She is
the daughter of Jodi
Cranis
and Scott Cranis and
older sister of Jordyn.
She is the grand-
daughter of and Jeri and Stephen Rope
of Farmington Hills and Sarah Cranis
of West Bloomfield. Mara is also the
granddaughter of the late Jack Cranis.
Proud great-grandparents are Onny and
Sanford Rope of Scottsdale, Ariz.
Mara is a seventh-grader at Hillel
Day School of Metropolitan Detroit in
Farmington Hills. Collecting children's
books for the Jewish Coalition for
Literacy was her most meaningful mitz-
vah project.

in West Bloomfield.
He is the brother of

and the late Henry Frank.
Jacob is an eighth-grade student at
Berkshire Middle School in Beverly Hills.
His most meaningful mitzvah project
was participating in the Torah Boys pro-
gram at the West Bloomfield Friendship
Circle; he plans to continue there in the
future.
