ABBI JOSEPH TELUSHKIN, named by Talk Magazine as one of
the 50 best speakers in the United States, will launch our
2008-2009 SYNergy Shabbat Weekend series.
Rabbi Telushkin is the author of
many highly popular books. Jewish Lit-
eracy: The Most Important Things to
Know About the Jewish Religion is the
most widely selling book on Judaism of
the past two decades. In 2006 he pub-
lished his monumental work, A Code of
Jewish Ethics: You Shall be Holy, a com-
prehensive presentation of Jewish
teachings on the vital topic of personal
character and integrity. Biblical Liter-
acy: The Most Important People, Events
and Ideas of the Hebrew Bible was a Book of the Month Club se-
lection. Words that Hurt; Words that Heal became the motivating
forces behind Senator Lieberman's and Senator Mack's resolu-
tion to establish a "National Speak No Evil Day" throughout the
United States. Other best sellers include: Jewish Humor: what
the Best Jewish Jokes Say about the Jews and The Nine Ques-
tions People Ask About Judaism.
Rabbi Telushkin lectures throughout the United States. He
is the spiritual leader of the Synagogue for the Performing Arts
in Los Angeles.
