On Tuesday, September 16th at 7:30 PM the "Capitol Steps" will come to the Max M. Fisher Music Center to enter- tain all of us with their political satire. What a great event for an election year! Kadima will be honor- ing Mary Must, a longtime and generous Kadima supporter. The 22nd Kadima home was recently purchased by Mary and will be called the "Miya Jo Must House," named in loving memory of her granddaughter. Miya Jo was the beloved daughter of Monni and Joel Must. Please join us at our benefit!! We need your support!! To purchase tickets contact Paula @ 248.559.8235, x 122. On the evening of August 18th, we held a Parlor Meeting at the home of Bluma and Robert Schechter. Miriam Weiner, a Kadima client, spoke about her experience grappling with mental illness and shared with us how Kadima has helped her fight her battle. The evening was a great suc- cess, and our thanks go to the Schechters for their generous support of Kadima. Funds generated from the Kadima Ben- efit and Parlor Meeting help us to maintain our 22 residential homes, our apartments, and condominiums for adults with men- tal illness. Some of our homes are group homes that range from independent living situations to 24 hour supervision. The Ben- efit will help with Kadima support services that include counseling, case coordination, KADIMA'S GOLF CLASSIC A HUGE SUCCESS Kadima's Seventh Annual Golf Classic was enjoyed by a record number of attendees. With eighty degree temperatures and blue skies, over 130 golfers enjoyed 18 holes of golf at Knollwood Country Club on July 14, 2008. The golfers competed for the first place award along with the opportunity to win a brand new 2008 Nissan Altima. Through the collaborative efforts of co-chairs Eli Saulson and Keith Lewis as well as their dedicated committee members — the event was a tremendous success. After an entire day of golf, the 200 guests attended a dinner, raffle and live auction to benefit Kadima's Lois and Milton Y. Activity Center. It was exciting to watch as generous bidders vied for luxury sport packages, vacation destinations — and a day of sailing aboard a 85 foot yacht. Janette Shallal, L.M.S.W. A.C.S.W.
