Specs Howard School of Broadcast Arts in Southfield brought home three
wins from this year's Career Colleges Association Convention in Las Vegas:
Specs Howard (Jerry Liebman), the school's founder, accepted the Pioneer
Award from the Imagine America Foundation; Specs Howard alumnus Chuck
Wilbur was inducted into the CCA Hall of Fame; and Specs Howard Chairman
& CEO Jonathan Liebman was elected vice chairman of the CM board of
directors. Since its inception, over 12,000 people have graduated from the Specs
Howard School of Broadcast Arts and have gone on to experience successful
careers in all conceivable areas of the radio and television business.

Monica Farris Linkner P.C. of West Bloomfield has opened

Ed Kohl of West Bloomfield was recently elected to the
national executive board of Volunteers for Israel and has been
appointed national coordinator and ambassador coordinator.
He is also the regional officer for the states of Michigan, Ohio,
Indiana and Wisconsin. Volunteers for Israel is associated with
Sar-El, which administers the program in Israel. Volunteers
typically spend two or three weeks living and working along-
side
Israelis, at an army base, Israeli Defense Forces ware-
Kohl
houses, hospitals or service bases. The program offers a way to
contribute to the State of Israel in a very direct way.

Murray R. Feldman, a senior shareholder in the Bloomfield Hills law firm of
Strobl & Sharp P C, has been elected chairperson of the Workers' Compensation
Section of the State Bar of Michigan. In addition to specializing in representing
employers in defense of workers' compensation and employment-related claims,
Feldman is an adjunct professor of law at the University of Detroit Mercy School
of Law; he is also special assistant attorney general and ad hoc hearing referee
for the Michigan Civil Rights Commission.
