ORT America Michigan Region Shalom TV On Locally S halom TV, the first national Jewish cable television network, is now available as part of Bright House Network's Free Video On Demand service, serving Livonia, Farmington, Farmington Hills, Livonia, Novi and Redford. The network is free and can be accessed by going to Channel 123 which is Video on Demand, then selecting Entertainment, and then scrolling to Shalom TV. Shalom TV can also be found on Comcast through Channel 1-On Demand, (select TV/Entertainment and then go to Shalom TV.) Shalom TV is a mainstream Jewish network that offers an array of English-language programming from entertainment and children's shows to news analysis, event cover- age and Jewish studies. It is available in more than 20 million homes nationwide on cable systems. Shalom TV, which is neither a religious network nor affiliated with any specific organization, sees itself as a window into Jewish life. Here is a sample of Shalom TV: •Jewish Film Festival showcases a new movie each week including American and Israeli feature films, documentaries, and Yiddish classics. • 92nd Street Y presents lectures and programs from the stage of the renowned cultural center in New York City exclusively on Shalom TV. •Jewish C-SPAN features expert guest analysis and exclusive cover- age of major events, rallies and national conventions with emphasis on issues of concern to Israel. • Shalom TV's Israel Update is a weekly review of events. •Shalom TV Kids, including a weekly "Story Time" for very young viewers, and an adventure series for older children called "Agent Ernes."
