According to the Post
article, the number of
people suffering from
food sensitivities is ex-
pected to rise; however,
medical experts aren't
sure why. Some theo-
rize that it's attributable
to reduced contact with
germs, exposure to environ-
mental pollutants, the way some
foods are processed, and other
reasons. Until more is known,
typically, the only remedy is to
avoid the offending foods.

Sales to food sensitive shoppers
(a $4 billion+ industry) has in-
creased notably since 2006, when
the federal government required
more detailed food labeling. A
qualified dietitian/nutritionist can
help recognize and manage a wide
range of food tolerance issues.
