Budget Breakdown
Summer in the City has 29 staff-
ers, mostly volunteer, to manage
its carpool and worksites. Only
$10,000 of the $80,000 budget is
for salaries; $70,000 is for build-
ing materials, paint, supplies and
gasoline.
The $10,000 for salaries
includes Mike Goldberg, who works
part-time for SITC during the year
and full-time during the summer,
and seven staffers who receive
$25-per-day stipends.
Twelve college-student interns
are each receiving $1,000 for the
summer through Americorps'
Michigan Service Scholars pro-
gram run by Michigan Campus
Compact.
