SUSAN FRYMAN RUDA, 62, of
Loganville, Ga., formerly of Oak Park,
died June 16, 2008.
She is survived by her beloved hus-
band, Joseph Ruda; children, Jeff Ruda,
Melissa and Mitchell Mullen; grand-
daughter, Paige; brother, Frederick
Fryman; sister-in-law, Sandy Miller;
and her dog, Mokey.
She was the daughter of the late
Soloman Fryman and the late Ida
(Fryman) Hockman.
Services were held in Georgia.

SARKO, 91, of
Aventura, Fla., and
Southfield, died July
3, 2008. A builder,
architect and devel-
oper in the Michigan
area, he built hos-
Sarko
pitals, housing and
commercial build-
ings. He was a 32nd degree Mason and
a member of B'nai B'rith.
Mr. Sarko is survived by his wife,
Mary Lapointe-Sarko of Aventura and
Southfield; daughter, Anita Sarko of
New York City; caregiver, Sofia Munoz.
He was the beloved father of the late
Barbara Karr; the cherished brother
of the late Francis Adler, the late Louis
Sarko and the late Emanuel Sarko.
Interment at Woodlawn Cemetery.
Contributions may be made to a char-
ity of one's choice. Arrangements by

JOSEPH SPITZER,
71, of Farmington
Hills, died June 24,
2008.
He is survived
by his beloved wife,
Joyce Spitzer; daugh-
ter, Amy (Paul) Malla
Spitzer
of Sykesville, Md.;
son and daughter-
in-law, Randall and Lisa Spitzer of Oak
Park; sister and brother-in-law, Selma
and Gerald Feinmel of Northridge,
Calif.; grandchildren, Zachary and
Rachel; nieces, Allison and Chris; his
dearest dog, Zoey; many other loving
family members and friends.
Mr. Spitzer was the dear uncle of the
late Elisa.
Interment at the Adat Shalom
Memorial Park Cemetery.

KALMAN TILLEM,
92, of Oak Park, died
July 5, 2008. In the
1940s, he served as
a social investigator
for the Department
of Welfare in New
York City. Later he
Tillem
became an examiner
for the United States
Civil Service Commission, construct-
ing tests for social welfare positions
in the federal government. Following
that he acted as a rehabilitation coun-
selor for the District of Columbia
Rehabilitation Service. In 1948, Mr.
Tillem became a research analyst
at the headquarters of the United
States Marine Corps, where he helped
develop promotion testing programs
and wrote a manual for the construc-
tion of tests. In 1954, he came to be
a vocational counselor at the Jewish
Vocational Service and also served
as coordinator for the committee on
the Jewish educational Loan service,
screening applicants for scholar-
ship aid. His retirement from JVS in
1984 was honored by mention in the
Congressional Record.
Mr. Tillem's part-time and volunteer
work involved acting as a chaplain and
Sunday school teacher for children at
the Wayne County Training School,
serving on the Citizens Advisory
Committee for the Oak Park School
Board and writing a report on voca-
tional education for use by the school
system. He also published an article in
the Personnel and Guidance Journal.
He is survived by daughters and a
son-in-law, Laura Tillem and Thomas
Hull of Wichita, Kan., Amy Tillem of
Boston, Mass.; sister and brother-in-
law, Lillian and Al Leiderman; sister-
in-law, Sonia Tillem.
Mr. Tillem was the beloved husband
of the late Esther Tillem; the devoted
mother of the late Larry Tillem; the
cherished brother of the late Joe
Tillem.
Interment at Adat Shalom Memorial
Park Cemetery. Contributions may

DENISE WEINER, 62, of Holly, died
July 3, 2008. She was an interior
designer and was previously a junior
high school teacher. She was also
active with PETA and the Humane
Society.
