JEFFREY ZASLOW

When Randy Pausch,
Carnegie Mellon University
professor, delivered his "Last
Lecture" in September, 2007,
neither he, nor his audience,
knew the speech would
become an international
phenomenon, inspiring
millions with his courage and
optimism in face of a terminal
illness. Among those in
attendance that day was
Jeffrey Zaslow, columnist for
the Wall Street Journal, who
thought the speech might
be "fodder for a story". What
began as a column became a
full-length book that has
affected people worldwide.
