In a certain sense, I came out of the Soviet Union confronted with many difficult challenges. I'm not implying it was the same type of "exodus" — but there are many similarities. "My self defense-training program represents a different approach," Shaykhet says. "It's very simple, practical and enables anybody to defend him or herself." Shaykhet developed his "painZmethod" in the former Soviet Union, where he trained special forces and sniper units.
