ELAINE SOROCK
SOTT, 87, of
Farmington Hills,
died June 13, 2008.
She was a life-

Salle Sorock, Lissa and Paul Hussian,
Amy Levine, Nikki Polen and Andy
Polen; great-grandchildren, Bryan

Sorock and Piper Sorock; sisters-in-
law, Bernice Ross and Dorothy Stein.
She was the beloved wife of the late
Dr. Milton Sorock and the late Herbert
Sott; loving sister of the late Melvin
Davidson and the late Geraldine E.
Hyman.
Interment at Clover Hill Park
Cemetery. Contributions may be

Lake Road, West Bloomfield, MI

BEN TURKIN, age 88, of Farmington
Hills, died June 14, 2008.
He graduated from Northern High
School in Detroit at 15 and then
attended Wayne College (later Wayne
State University) for six months. He
left Wayne to begin two years of work
in the electrical supply business. When
he was of age, he entered the Coast
Guard and worked in intelligence for
three years.

Returning from the service, Mr.
Turkin continued work in the electri-
cal supply business; he retired from
Madison Electric after 40 years. He
then went to work for Allied Electric
for 20 years. He most recently worked
for Michigan Chandelier.
Mr. Turkin was a life member of
the Masons and the Shriners. Friends,
family and business associates loved
to hear him tell a joke. He also loved
tennis, reading, history, his job and
his customers. He was proud of both
his children's and his grandchildren's
accomplishments.
He is survived by his beloved wife
of 65 years, Sylvia; daughters and son-
in-law, Anita Turkin of Alexandria,
Va., Sara and Jay Olshansky of Buffalo
Grove,Ill.; son, Dr. Thomas Turkin
of Farmington Hills; grandchildren,
Jessica and Ricky Olshansky.
Interment at Machpelah Cemetery
in Ferndale. Contributions may
be made to the American Heart
Association, American Diabetes
Association, American Cancer
Society or to a charity of one's choice.
Arrangements by Dorfman Chapel.

of the late Hyman Weinstein.

Beaumont Hospital, 3711 W. 13 Mile,
Royal Oak, MI 48073. Arrangements
