JVS to fete client
success stories.

VS will recognize four
clients with its Employee
of the Year Award at the
11th annual Strictly Business
Networking and Awards Luncheon
June 16 at the Hyatt Regency Hotel
in Dearborn. Lila Lazarus, anchor
and health reporter at WJBK Fox2,
will present the awards to those
who have overcome obstacles to
become successfully employed:
• Public Relations Specialist Heidi
Press of St. Joseph Mercy Oakland
overcame a debilitating car acci-
dent and participated in the JVS
Corporate Opportunities Program
to get her career back on track.
Through the COP program, which
serves professional, managerial
and executive level job seekers, she
worked closely with JVS to assess
the job market, launch a job search
and use her network to jump start
her career. Her perseverance paid off
with her position and being honored
as a JVS Employee of the Year.
• Brian Moffett, a warehouse
employee with Office Furniture
Solutions, participated in the
Michigan Prisoner Re-Entry
Initiative to re-integrate into society
obtain full-time employment.
• Lawauna Brewster, a detail
cleaning crew member at the Palace
of Auburn Hills, is being honored
for being a leader among her fellow
employees and serving as a mentor.
•Wal-Mart Greeter Donald
Lipscomb has a smile for everyone
and has become an inspiration to
his fellow co-workers.
The Strictly Business lun-
cheon is JVS' major fundraising
event. Honorary chair and key-
note speaker Rick Wagoner, GM
chairman and CEO, will address
an audience of 700 business and
community leaders. In addition,
Pleasant Ridge-based ePrize will be
recognized with the JVS Business
Leadership award.
