This Charter position exists to assist the City Administrator and work with department
heads to coordinate efforts toward the achievement of department objectives and
the objectives of the City government as a whole. The Deputy City Administrator
exercises considerable initiative and independent judgment in representing the City
Administrator within an assigned area of responsibility and exercises delegated authority
over Department Heads and other employees. The Deputy City Administrator works
under the general direction of the City Administrator and work is subject to evaluation
on the basis of results obtained. This position also assumes the position of Acting City
Administrator in the Administrator's absence. Minimum requirements: Master's degree
in public or business administration, or related field. Other combinations of experience
and education which meet the minimum requirements may be considered. Seven to
ten years of experience in municipal management positions with authority for program
direction and budget administration, or for coordination and supervision of such
functions. Applicants will be subject to criminal history background and driving record
checks. This is an unclassified, at will position within the Management Group and is
appointed by the City Administrator with approval by City Council. Submit a City of
