Charity of Detroit for his lifetime of
service to children and at-risk families
as recipient of the third annual Dream
Catchers Award. From the inception
of his legal career, he has embraced
controversial positions and has worked
within the framework of the law
to protect the interests of children
and families. A principal author of
Michigan's Child Custody Act of 1970,
still in effect nearly four decades later,
Baskin has also served as chairperson
of the state's Domestic Violence Task
Force.
