Dr. john a. powell: A native of Detroit, and an internationally recognized
authority in the areas of civil rights, civil liberties and a wide range of issues.
He is Executive Director of the Kirwan Institute for the Study of Race and
Ethnicity at The Ohio State University and the Gregory H. Williams
Chair in Civil Rights & Civil Liberties at the University's
Michael E. Moritz College of Law.
Kurt Metzger: Returning from the first program of the Weaving Our
Community series, Mr. Metzger is a demographer and Director of Research for
United Way for Southeastern Michigan. Mr. Metzger's role is to develop the
research structure to identify the key social and human service issues facing
residents of Southeast Michigan.
