Dec. 4 Sara (Sergeant) Weinberger and Jeffrey Weinberger of Troy are thrilled to announce the birth of their son, Max Steven (Moshe Weinberger Shmuel). Welcoming him home is his big brother, Charlie, 21/2. Sharing in their happiness are grandparents Dr. Allen and Kaye Weinberger of West Bloomfield and Nancy Sergeant of West Bloomfield. Max is named in loving memory of his maternal great-grandmother Maxine Harrison and his paternal cousin Stephen Friedman. jessyca Hannah Blase (Yafeh) of West Bloomfield, daughter of Barbara and Larry Blase and sister of Bryan and Shayna, will celebrate her bat mitzvah Blase Saturday, May 10, at Congregation Shaarey Zedek Southfield. Her proud grandparents are Betty Blase and Alvin Levine. She is also the grand- daughter of the late Bernard Blase and, the late Blanche Levine. Jessyca is a student at Orchard Lake Middle School in West Bloomfield. For her mitzvah project, she worked with children with special needs at the Friendship Circle in West Bloomfield. Matthew Evan Dumond will be called to the bimah at Temple Israel in West Bloomfield Saturday, May 10, as he celebrates his bar mitzvah. His par- Dumond ents are Susan and Timothy Dumond and his brother is Nathan. Sharing in the simchah will be his grandparents Mary and David Dumond and Lila Winikui He is also the grandchild of the late Francis Winikus. Matthew attends Walnut Creek Middle School in Walled Lake. His most meaningful mitzvah project was raising funds to buy beds for the Leader Dogs for the Blind in Rochester. Dana Ariel Goldberg of West Bloomfield will become a bat mitz- vah at Adat Shalom Synagogue in Farmington Hills on Saturday, May Goldberg 10. Participating in the ceremony will be her parents, Laura and Andy Goldberg, and her brother Ben. Excited grandparents are Marilyn and Jerold Hoskow of West Bloomfield and Marilyn and Darryl Goldberg of Bloomfield Hills. Dana attends West Hills Middle School in Bloomfield Hills. Among her mitzvah projects, she will be donating 24 teddy bears to Children's Hospital of Michigan in Detroit, hoping to bring smiles to the young patients. Claudia Lynn Halpern, together with her parents, Elyssa and Howard Halpern, will cel- ebrate her bat mitz- vah Saturday, May 10, at Temple Israel Halpern in West Bloomfield. She is the sister of Sam and Amanda. Her grandparents are Marilyn Schneid, Sandy and David Halpern and Judy and Arthur Schneid. Claudia is a student at Geisler Middle School in Walled Lake. Her most meaningful mitzvah project was her involvement with Friendship Circle in West Bloomfield, where she both volunteered and donated funds. Participating in the ceremony will be her Lammers parents, Daniel and Julie Lammers, and sister Allison.
