HMC Trains Docents
The Holocaust Memorial Center
Zekelman Family Campus in
Farmington Hills will hold its annual
training program for individuals wish-
ing to serve as docents.
Two identical orientation sessions
have been scheduled for adults with
daytime hours to give. The first will
take place Wednesday, May 14; the
second is scheduled for Wednesday,
June 25. Each orientation meeting will
begin at 10 a.m., and neither will last
longer than 90 minutes. Both meetings
will take place in the campus audi-
torium, 28123 Orchard Lake Road in
Farmington Hills.
A calendar of subsequent classes
will be decided upon by the group.
Judy Miller, HMC board member and
longtime coordinator of the docent-
training program, will preside at the
meeting.
Interested adults will learn to guide
groups on walking tours of the HMC
while explaining the exhibits and
interpreting the history and lessons of
the Holocaust. The complex includes
three distinct entities, namely the
Museum of European Jewish History,
the International Institute of the
Righteous and the Holocaust Museum.

Time has been allotted in the tours to
include all these areas and docent can-
didates will receive a script.
Individuals who began their train-
ing in prior years but who were unable
to complete the program due to per-
sonal situations are invited to return.
Advance registration is necessary for
everyone who plans to either the May
14 or June 25 orientation meeting.

information may be obtained in person
