A window into Jewish history

For 20 years, the Cohn-Haddow
Center for Judaic Studies at
Wayne State University has
provided extensive resources for
people studying Jewish history
and culture. Offering a large
collection of written material,
videos, DVDs and interactive
media, the center is located
in the Faculty-Administration
Building and open to anyone
with an interest in Judaica.

"We are primarily geared toward
research and scholarship," said
director David Weinberg, "but
students and members of the
community come here, too."
The center sponsors academic
and cultural events both on and
off campus, inviting scholars,
musicians, poets, and other
artists to speak and perform.

"We integrate Jewish studies and
scholarship into the university
environment and beyond, into

the metro area," said Weinberg.
"This is part of Wayne State's
mission to contribute to the
larger Detroit community."
