The foregoing is why,
when appropriate, I
t '
strongly advocate a
I
"team" approach to
building and maintain-
ing sound, healthy
behaviors. Like it or not,
specialization is a natural
outgrowth of the informa-
tion age—the sheer volume of in-
formation required to be evaluated
in order to maintain an acceptable
level of expertise in any health-
related field can be overwhelming.
Rather than trying to "go it alone,"
the smarter approach, in my
humble opinion, is to draw (in a
coordinated manner) on the proven
expertise of others in order to pro-
vide the client/patient with the best
possible advice and care possible.

nswer: Dear Shelly, Your
question implies that you
understand that an ap-
propriate exercise regime by itself
(although, very important) is not
enough to achieve and maintain
a complete, healthy lifestyle. The
same can also be said about other
individual, health-related disci-
plines such as nutrition, physi-
cian care, therapy, etc.—in
isolation, each may not be
as effective as they could be
working in concert with
(, 1"%i ) each other.
