She was the devoted sister of the late Ruth Greenberg and the late Shirley Gordon; aunt of the late Dr. David Gordon. Interment at the Adat Shalom Memorial Park. RUTH ILEEN YASINOWSKY BUNIS KRANITZ, 87, former Detroiter of Marietta, Ga., died April 7, 2008. She was born in in Cleveland, Ohio. Mrs. Kranitz taught kindergarten for 20 years at the Vandenberg School in Southfield. She had a degree in pre-kindergarten education from the University of Buffalo and a master's in counseling from the University of Michigan. She was a founding member of Congregation Shir Tikvah in Troy, was a longtime active member of Sheruth League and did reading for the blind and Braille binding. Mrs. Kranitz touched the lives of many people throughout the years, especially the hundreds of students in her kindergarten classes to whom she passed along a lifelong love of learn- ing. Friends and family knew her as a person of keen intelligence combined with a good-natured sense of humor. She is survived by her children, Tobie Kranitz Walters of Alpharetta, Ga., Ian Kranitz of North Hollywood, Calif.; grandsons, Scott and Shawn Kranitz of North Hollywood. Per her wishes, her remains have been donated to the Medical College of Georgia to further scientific research.
