His grandparents are Phyllis and Dr.
Gerald Brickner and Mary Carroll and
the late William Carroll. His great-
grandparents are the late Edwina and
the late Leon Labowitch, the late Sarah
and the late Sam Brickner.
Evan attends Clifford Smart Middle
School in Walled Lake. He conducted
a can drive in his neighborhood to
raise funds for Almost Home Animal
Shelter/Rescue and felt this was a very
meaningful mitzvah project.

Sidney Weinreich Canchester (Don
Rachmiel) son of Paula and Paul
Canchester of Highland Park, Ill., was
called to the Torah as a bar mitzvah on
Saturday, Jan. 19, at Congregation Am
Yisrael in Northfield, Ill. Celebrating
with Sid were his sister Dara, his proud
grandparents former Detroiters Bea
and Jack Canchester now of Deerfield,
Ill., and Barbara Weinreich of Orlando,
Fla. Sid is also the grandson of the late
Robert Weinreich. Loving relatives and
friends came from far and wide to wit-
ness Sid on the bimah.
His mitzvah project is to work to
restore the earth's dwindling natural
resources.
