The seders will be being held on both nights of the holiday, Saturday, April 19, and Sunday, April 20, led by Rabbi Boruch Cohen of the Birmingham-Bloomfield Chai Center, 1578 Lakeside Drive. Both seders will start after nightfall, at 9:45 p.m. "Passover Across America" is spon- sored by the National Jewish Outreach Program (NJOP) of New York, which awards advertising grant money to synagogues selected to host seders. The NJOP is a Jewish adult educa- tion organization founded in 1987. It has offered programs such as "Read Hebrew America;' and "Shabbat Across America;' along with courses in basic Judaism and Jewish history. "Passover Across America" seders are conducted entirely in English. The Birmingham seder is being promoted as an "interactive experience in a fam- ily atmosphere:' The cost is $36 per adult, $18 per teenager and $12 per child.
