When visiting back in Detroit, it is the first place we go to, having the whitefish plate. "There are really good restaurants here around Aventura, although certainly not as many as back home, and we have eaten at most. We have also eaten from our area to Ft. Lauderdale, Pompano, Coral Springs, Boca Raton, Delray and Palm Beach. The best deli in Ventura is Moe's. Everyone here knows Moe's, where they stand in line and like it. The Peppermill is good, and people here rush for its early bird. "There are many kosher places, too. Chef Allen's is top notch four-and-a-half stars and pricey, next Morton's and then Houston's, which is not as pricey but always a good choice. There are many kosher places, too. A fine Russian restaurant, Tatiana's, is located in Hallandale, owned by Russian Jews Tatiana Verzar and Walter and Rita Abolsky.
