Known to her children as "Mum", her grandchildren as "Grammy," her great granddaughter as "GG" (for great-grandmother), and to everyone else as "Auntie Freda',' she was born in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada. She quietly lived a life of doing kind things for people while refus- ing any recognition or compensation, the definition of Random Acts of Kindness. Nothing made her happier than spending hours calling people on the phone just to brighten their day or to lend a hand. Of course, she never wanted anyone to call her for worry that "they shouldn't have to pay for the call." She lived her life fully under the belief that we are here to help each other, and this lesson by example will live on forever. If everyone were as kind and selfless as Auntie Freda, life would be a paradise.
