I USED TO BE
A DEMOCRAT.

I grew up in an essentially Democratic, liberal Jewish family in New York, grandson of
poor, working immigrants Ihe Democratic Party used to represent our needs and values,
it spoke for the poor, and stood up for Israel and for a strongAmerica.

It's a different party now

The Democratic Party is dominated by the far left who see Israel as an obstacle to peace and
have a knee jerk negative reaction to anything that would enhance our country's security.

I agree with Joe Lieberman when he recently said,
"There is something profoundly wrong when, in the
face of attacks by radical Islam, we think we can find
safety and stability by pulling back, by talking to and
accommodating our enemies, and abandoning our
friends and allies."

That's not how I view the safety and security of our
country and our families. Unfortunately, that is how
so many leaders in the Democratic Party feel.

It seems most Democratic leaders were rooting for the surge in Iraq to fail. They want
to gain political advantage at the cost of our security. I don't agree with the Republicans
on every issue, but the Democratic Party just doesn't represent me anymore.
