A Family
Affair

Family, friends and plenty of fun

made Joanna Miller's wedding to

Michael Steinberg an affair to remember.

Beauty, they say, is in the details. And family and friends were counted as the
most beautiful details on hand when Joanna Miller wed Michael Steinberg on
June 20, 2007. Some 275 guests gathered for the festivities at Temple Israel in
West Bloomfield — many going to great lengths to get there.
The bride, who grew up in Bloomfield Hills, and the groom, who grew up in
Woodmere, N.Y., met during their first month at the University of Michigan (the
groom bought U-M yarmulkes for all of his groomsmen) and moved to New York
City soon after graduation. "It was just unbelievable, having all our friends and
family coming in," says Joanna. "We had a lot of trouble with airlines, people's
flights were canceled — including our own. Some people ended up driving in 10
hours from New York. In the end, though, everything worked out perfectly." She
adds, "I wouldn't have done a single thing differently."
