The Detroit Chapter American Technion Society held its annual open
house in new offices in Farmington Hills. Among the group that stopped in
for sandwiches were Sheila, Sol and Sy Garber of Southfield. Sheila's award-
winning homemade brownies were the hit of the dessert buffet.

JGN Hosts Series

The Jewish Gay Network of Michigan
(JGN), in partnership with PFLAG
(Parents, Family, and Friends of
Lesbians and Gays), the Jewish
Community Center and Jewish Family
Service, will present a series of eve-
nings titled "Someone I Know Is Gay
... Now What?"
Programs take place on the first
Tuesday of every month at 7 p.m.
at the Jewish Community Center in
West Bloomfield. The next program
will take place 7 p.m. Tuesday, March
4, in Rooms 1 and 2 of the southeast

wing of the JCC (former Holocaust
Memorial Center).
The topic will be the Ruth Ellis
Center, an outreach center and shel-
ter for homeless LGBTQ youth. Jack
VanHecke, development director for
the Ruth Ellis Center, will be the guest
speaker. There will be discussion and
refreshments. New, unopened packag-
es of men's or women's underwear for
the Ruth Ellis Center will be accepted.
