Arnie says that one of the major changes over the years has been the "pressures on kids. Kids are busier. Jewish kids are more integrated into school activities, which is a major competitor for the time kids have. There is a need for kids to be involved in more than one outside activity, but BBYO is still important enough that this is still a priority for them," he comments. "Arnie served so long with such a passion and devotion, it made for a steady ride for Michigan Region", said Bruce Gorosh, Commission member, past AZA regional vice president and former advisor. "The Michigan Region has the best program with the best long-term effects—filling the void in Jewish life after bar mitzvah," Rick Segal stated. "For Arnie, it's always about the kids. He has left an incredible legacy and after he leaves, we will strive to continue building on his foundation," said Barbara Horowitz, BBYO Commission Chair.
