Israeli Snowfall
Howard Sherizen of Oak Park experienced snow while visiting family in Israel
on Jan. 31. He snapped this snowman-igloo combination, with a young Chassidic
snow architect, on Kfar Ivri Street in Jerusalem. Umbrellas are popular during
rare Jerusalem snowfalls, which normally start out as heavy slush and quickly
turn to hail.

Food Feast
A crowd of 95 people at the Birmingham-Bloomfield Chai Center recently
enjoyed a guest cooking demonstration and meal by master kosher chef
Levana Kirschenbaum of Levana's Restaurant in New York. She prepared and
catered a five-course Moroccan feast in two hours. Shown are Fran Rogers
of Southfield, Rebbetzin Ita Leah Cohen of Birmingham, Levana, Leah Ruby
of West Bloomfield, Eileen Borsand of Bloomfield Hills, Barbara Fleischer of
Birmingham, Barbara Hillman of Huntington Woods and Charlene Wolfe of
Bloomfield Hills. All assisted Levana in her presentation.
