She is survived by her loving sons, Howard Miller (Andrea) of Scottsdale, Ariz., and Bernard Miller (Nancy) of Dearborn; six grandchildren; five great-grand- children; nieces, nephews, and friends. She was the last remaining sib- ling of the proud Brookenthal fam- ily of 11. A thank you to the many caregiv- ers in the past four years that made her life as comfortable as possible. Services and interment at the Star of David Memorial Gardens and Funeral Home in North Lauderdale, Fla. ZELDA POLLINGER, formerly of Detroit of St. Petersburg, Fla., died Feb. 9, 2008. Born Zelda Erman in 1906, she grew up in Detroit, graduated from Northern High School and got her B.A. and M.A. degrees from the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor. Over the years, she taught English to many hundreds of stu- dents at Mumford High School, and was later a counselor at McKenzie High School. She married Sol Pollinger; and they lived in Detroit until 1970, when they moved to St. Petersburg. She was a member of Temple Beth El in St. Petersburg and of many Jewish women's organizations. She kept in close touch with many of her former students, as well as with friends both in Detroit and St. Petersburg. Mrs. Pollinger is survived by a son, Richard Pollinger of Tampa, Fla.; 10 nieces and nephews, almost all living in the Detroit area. Trust, onTassion and 91ndcrstanding.
