Bloomfield and Barbara and
Harold Beznos of Bloomfield Hills
are thrilled to announce the engagement of
their children Julie Hope Lasky and Samuel
Mandell Beznos. Julie is also the daughter of
the late David Lasky.
Julie received her bachelor of arts degree
in elementary education from Eastern
Michigan University in Ypsilanti. She works
in the Bloomfield Hills school district.
Sam received his bachelor of arts degree
from the University of Michigan and his
master's degree in real estate finance at
New York University. He is a real estate developer and a principal at the Beztak
Companies.
An April wedding is planned in West Bloomfield.

Heights, Ill., and Patricia Myers of
Rockford, Ill., proudly announce the
engagement of their daughter Kristin Myers
to Eric Riger.
Ms. Myers graduated from the University
of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and is
marketing manager for Focus Management
Group in Tampa, Fla.
Mr. Riger, the son of Frayda and Donald
("the Don") Riger of Farmington Hills, grad-
uated from Western Michigan University in
Kalamazoo and is a global demand planner
for Jabil Circuits, St. Petersburg, Fla.
The couple met on a study abroad program in Wollongong, Australia.

amara Joyce Shafir and Craig
Steven Skulsky were recently
married at Temple Israel in West
Bloomfield. Rabbi Paul Yedwab of Temple
Israel along with Rabbi Joseph Krakoff of
Congegation Shaarey Zedek of Oakland
County and Cantor Michael Smolash of
Temple Israel officiated.
Tamara is the daughter of Isaiah and
Peggy Shafir of West Bloomfield. Craig is
the son of Edward and Marilynn Skulsky of
West Bloomfield.
The bridesmaids were Michelle Shafir
and Judith Disner, sisters of the bride, and
Barbara Kellam, sister of the groom. Alan Skulsky, brother of the groom, was
best man; friends Bernard Kole and John Oeftering were groomsmen.
The couple were elated to have in attendance cousins from Israel and
Thailand, along with friends and relatives from throughout the country.
After a honeymoon in Italy, the couple now reside in West Bloomfield.
