Calling Monopoly Fans
Hasbro, which makes Monopoly, is inviting fans to vote in an online
contest to determine which 22 cities will be etched in the collective
memory for a new global edition of the 75-year-old game.
The contest, which continues through Feb. 28, allows Monopoly fans
the world over to cast their ballots for the 10 best cities from a pre-
selected list, including Jerusalem, Israel.
The 20 cities with the highest number of votes will appear on the
new global Monopoly board. You can help ensure that Jerusalem
makes the board by casting a vote. At press time, Jerusalem was is
ranked No. 7.
To vote, go to www.monopolyworldvote.com/en_US/world . Then
go to "Sort By: Cities" on the right side of the page. Scroll down to
Jerusalem and click. A pop-up Monopoly card gives details about the
city. Click "Add to My Cities" below the card. Then click vote. You will
then be asked to register.

Respite To Sderot
The Jewish Agency for Israel is funding field trips for 6,000 grammar
and high school students living in Sderot and the surrounding area.
The educational or recreational activities take place outside the zone
that's under continuous rocket attack from the Gaza Strip.
This latest initiative to ease the situation for Sderot residents
follows a rise in rocket attacks on the city and its environs by
Palestinian terrorists. A $400,000 allocation from the United Jewish
Communities-Federations of North America is providing the funding.
The program covers pupils in grades three-12.
All of the trips are coordinated through the school system with the
approval of the Ministry of Education.
Some schools choose to send their students on educational field
trips to places like Jerusalem and Masada, while others opt for rec-
reational activities, including trips to the Tel Aviv area or horseback
riding and other outdoor activities. Several schools even arranged to
send Sderot students to Mt. Hermon where they take part in winter
sports.
"The situation these last weeks is unbearable and there is a strong
sense of claustrophobia when you can't go far away from a shelter,"
said Tzipi Eisenman, who heads Jewish Agency activity in the area.
"By taking the kids out of the area, it greatly relieves the stress and
anxiety"
Meanwhile, the Jewish Agency's Victims of Terror Fund, underwrit-
ten by the UJC, continues to provide immediate financial assistance to
Sderot area residents whose homes are hit by Kassam rockets.

they are well-packed to be reheated, said Rami Mandelbaum, who
owns the restaurant with his wife, Arly.
The restaurant, open Sunday-Friday, is under the supervision of the
Vaad Harabonim in Southfield.
"We've had a lot of requests to open a restaurant in West
Bloomfield;' Mandelbaum said. "I really appreciate when the West
Bloomfield community comes out to the restaurant. Now we can make
it easier and more convenient for them
