seeking state seat.

Whether it was raising our family, pursuing careers or giving back to the community, we've
done our best to make every moment of our lives count. The same is true now That's why we
made our home at The Heritage Southfield. Our days begin and end in a spacious apartment
home. But in between there are endless opportunities to do the things that matter most to us,
like travel, fitness, hobbies and enjoying the company of friends and family.

Come see how The Heritage Southfield can help you make the most of your life.
It'll only take a moment.

F

amily law attorney and
Walled Lake School Board
President Amy Peterman
is a Republican candidate for the
state House seat representing the
39th district
— Commerce
Township and
part of West
Bloomfield. The
Oak Park native
has been a West
Bloomfield resi-
dent for 32 years.
Amy
The district is
Peterman
currently repre-
sented by David
Law, R-Commerce Township, who is
running for county prosecutor.
"As an attorney for the past 20
years, I've handled over 1,000 cases,
advocating for the rights of chil-
dren and families and vulnerable
adults," Peterman said. "And as a
school board member, I've worked
to give our children the world-class
education they need to excel in a
changing world.
"People are concerned about
their future she added. "Will they
be able to make their mortgage
payment? Will they be able to afford
college for their children? Will they
even have a job next month? What
happens if they get sick?
"The challenges we face require
hard work and creative solutions,
not glib answers and political pos-
turing. I am running for state rep-
resentative to be a voice for change,
a voice for our families. I will take
to Lansing a 'can-do' attitude that
is willing to work with Republicans
and Democrats to move our corn-
munity and our state forward:'
To avoid the appearance of a con-
flict of interest, Peterman is resign-
ing from the school board.
She and her husband, Michael
Karson, have four children. They
are members of Temple Israel in
West Bloomfield and support the
American Cancer Society and the
Lupus Alliance of Michigan.
She holds an undergraduate
degree from University of Michigan
and a juris doctor from Wayne State
University Law School in Detroit.

before joining the Senate Majority
Policy Office as legal counsel.
