She was the beloved wife of the late
George Bright; loving mother of the
late Robert Bright; dear sister of the
late Arlene Shapiro.
Interment at Machpelah Cemetery.

CITRON, 89, of West

Bloomfield, died Jan.
23, 2008. He was
born in 1918 in Riga,
Latvia, and would
have been 90 on
Valentine's Day.
In World War II,
PFC Citron served
on General Eisenhower's staff as an
interpreter at Supreme Expeditionary
Forces. He was a courier at the Battle
of the Bulge and D-Day+4 at Omaha
Beach. At war's end, he tracked down
and arrested German S.S. officers in
A member of the Jewish Center
Health Club for more than 50 years,
he worked out regularly until shortly
before his death. An avid runner,
he completed eight marathons after
the age of 62, winning his division
(70 and over) in the Marine Corps
Marathon. He also was a past presi-
dent of the Westown Lions Club
Mr. Citron was a renaissance
gentleman who loved opera, ballroom
dancing and playing chess. He will
be forever missed for his quick wit,
never-failing generosity, unique style
and joie de vivre.
Mr. Citron is survived by his
beloved wife of almost 67 years, Irene
(Willis); cherished children, Professor
Monique (Jed) Stampleman, Dr. Marc
(Christine) Citron of New York, Dr.
Joanne Burgio of Minneapolis; grand-
children, Leah (David) Dembitzer,

Evan Citron, Adam Citron, Michael
Stock, all of New York, David and
Grace Burgio of Minneapolis; great-
grandchild Lucas Dembitzer; brother-
in-law, Philip Garber; sisters-in-law,
Esther Fealk and Ann Benderoff;

CHARLES COWAN, 95, of Huntington

Woods, died Jan. 23, 2008.
He is survived by his wife, Celia
Cowan; children, Sandra Cowan and
Jack Lesser of Westmount, Quebec,
Allen Cowan of Charlotte, N.C.; step-
sons, David Blondy of Oxford, Mich.,
William Blondy of Huntington Woods;
sister, Edith Schoel of Montreal,
