T H ODON T CS Lightning Twice Reznik disproves his own prophecy. Steve Stein Special to The Jewish News B 'nai B'rith bowler Rick Reznik threw a 300 game Nov. 5. It was a remarkable achievement for someone who sat out the past two seasons because of work and the feeling he was getting burned out on bowling. "That will be my first and last 300 game Reznik declared. "It's so difficult to do. Even if you throw 12 perfect balls, there's no guaran- tee they'll all be strikes!' Reznik was wrong. The right-hander threw another 300 during Brotherhood-Eddie Jacobson League play Jan. 14 at Country Lanes in Farmington Hills. Rick Reznik The latest 300 was a nice birthday present for Reznik's mother, Judy Reznik of Oak Park. And, while it was the 11th perfect game in Brotherhood-Eddie Jacobson's 46-year history, it's the first time a bowler has rolled two in the same season. Dennis Horwitz, Reznik's team- mate and longtime friend, is the only other Brotherhood-Eddie Jacobson bowler with two perfect games. It was Horwitz who urged Reznik to return to the league he first joined in 1993. Reznik's series Jan. 14 was 300-195- 182-677. As always, making spares was a problem for the 38-year-old Bloomfield Hills resident. Reznik con- verted just two all night. His 182 game contained eight strikes and no spares. Just two lucky shots — both Brooklyn hits — were needed in Reznik's 300 game. The other 10 shots were right in the pocket. Reznik's series Nov. 5 was 300-253- 186-739. He began the second game with two open frames, then reeled off 10 consecutive strikes.
